“Ready to be hurt again?” Mercedes jostles the funny bone with their hilarious and self depreciating tweet

Mercedes Team Principal Toto Wolff

Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 team has earned its reputation of posting some of the most hilarious tweets. But this one has seemed to have topped all of them. The German manufacturer find itself in unchartered territory after the kind of start they have had to the season. Both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell have been not been anywhere close to Ferrari and Red Bull, who have utterly dominated Mercedes this year around.

Nobody saw this coming after they came up short in 2021. One thing that has always given Mercedes the edge has been the development of the car. But, it’s not been up to the mark as both the Mercedes drivers have faced a lot of issues with the car bouncing on the straight (also known as porpoising), which has made them lose a lot of time on the straights. Mercedes W-13 was losing almost a second in Saudi Arabia in comparison to the Red Bull RB-18.

With 8 constructor’s title and 7 driver’s championships, Mercedes has become a household name in F1. Therefore, it’s been shocking for its fans to see these kind of performances week in and week out. But, the team has accepted the situation they are in. Their official Twitter team posed a hilarious question which asked if the fans are excited for the weekend or are ready to be hurt again?

Despite all of the banter, Toto Wolff has his eyes set on the weekend and wants to make the most of his opportunity. In a recent interview, he said, “We head to Baku refreshed after a hectic Monaco weekend full of red flags, delays and changeable weather.”

“We scored solid points, but more was possible over the weekend, and we need to be maximising every opportunity we can to stay in the fight.”

“With another street circuit in Baku up next, the team has been working flat-out to analyse those two races and identify the areas we can innovate to push us forward,” as reported by gpfans.

Mercedes might be in a spot of bother right now but they have shown glimpses of recovery at times and therefore it is necessary for all the teams to wary of the threat that they possess despite their struggles.
