In 2023, the Formula 1 season has been one long saga of success for the Red Bull F1 Racing Team. With Dutch racer Max Verstappen leading the team, and Sergio Perez giving him a solid backing, the Austrian squad saw enormous success for the first time since Sebastian Vettel had led them to back-to-back F1 Constructors’ Championship wins during the early 2010s. But because of their immensely positive results, Red Bull have also ended up making many enemies who simply want to copy their style.

Ever since the new F1 rules were announced at the end of the 2021 season, Red Bull have only climbed up the points ladder while their rival teams have mostly seen a decline in their results. Mercedes have not been able to win a single Grand Prix last year while RBR have won all but one of the races. And Ferrari have not seen any of their Scuderia drivers claim the coveted Formula 1 World Championship win ever since Kimi Raikkonen had achieved the feat back in 2007.

Naturally, the opponent teams have become aware that Red Bull are designing their cars in some way that is working for them while the others are failing at cracking the code. And this has led to many of the other F1 teams trying to copy Red Bull’s tactics to see some success in the upcoming F1 Championship. But RBR Technical Director Pierre Wache is convinced that making carbon copies will not help the teams reach anywhere unless they understand the designs.

I think it is possible to copy, but in all businesses in the world, when it is technical, the 'how' is only one aspect. The most important is the 'why'. If you don't know the 'why', you can copy what you want, but it's better to stick with what you understand.
Pierre Wache said, as reported by SoyMotor.

AlphaTauri’s new avatar will use Red Bull’s front suspension in their 2024 campaign

At the end of the 2023 Formula 1 season, longtime Red Bull associate and the Team Principal of their sister squad AlphaTauri, Franz Tost, retired from his role. Now, AlphaTauri is all set to enter another chapter in their F1 saga by competing at the highest level of motorsports under a new name–Racing Bulls. Alongwith a new name, the Faenza outfit will also have the new pairing of Daniel Ricciardo and Yuki Tsunoda to race for them.

But amidst all the new things happening at Racing Bulls, the team will resort to using Red Bull’s old suspension in their 2024 car. This is expected to help the team get better results in the upcoming Championship campaign after they ended up in the thord-last spot on the Constructors’ Championship Standings in 2023.
