Red Bull’s Chief Engineer reveals the reason behind Max Verstappen’s DRS issues at the Spanish GP

Max Verstappen
Red Bull’s Chief Engineer speaks about the problem of Max Verstappen’s RB-18 with DRS in Spain. The problem was later solved in Monaco, but there isn’t any guarantee for it to work on the streets of Baku, agreed to Paul. Monaco and Baku have two different aero specifications that might bring troubles for Max.
Max in Spain struggled to take DRS on the straights but due to the problems, he wasn’t able to. He also faces trouble overtaking George Russell for the lead, with a few spots on the track preferring overtakes. Paul agreed the problems were brought to themselves, and are continuously working on them.
Baku is the real test for the Red Bull

Baku is a lot different from Monaco and Spain, with Monaco being a slow track and DRS not much in use, Baku has a top speed of 340 km/hour with DRS, Monaco only managing 160. Baku presents very different aero specifications under different pressure. Red Bull cannot relay down with the issue being resolved in Monaco. Nevertheless, Paul is confident about the team’s quality to solve the problem.
Red Bull is on the championship lead with 235 points, which to a great performance of Max Verstappen couldn’t have been possible. The Dutchman managed to win even after the problems, he also managed the third position in Monaco. But considering the problems, they could still suffer a big blow in the races ahead, reported GP Blog
