Report: Ferrari’s Mattia Binotto to be sacked after the team’s disappointing performance in Brazil, replacement already found
Mattia Binotto
Things have been a nightmare for the Ferrari PR team in these last few hours as the Italian news outlet, La Gazetta, revealed some explosive news earlier today. According to their report, Mattia Binotto, who is currently heading the Scuderia as the Team Principal, is going to be replaced in the next few months, owing to the lack of results from the Maranello outfit during his tenure as their Chief.
The news of Mattia Binotto’s dismissal has shaken the motorsports community as many fans believe the 53-year-old is undeserving of his position and should be replaced by someone more worthy. La Gazetta even mentioned a potential candidate for Binotto’s position, and that is none other than Frederic Vasseur–the current CEO and Team Principal of Alfa Romeo Racing.
It is an undeniable fact that Ferrari needs a complete upheaval in order to get back to the competitive form that it previously enjoyed. Thus, fans easily believed La Gazetta’s report on Vasseur presumably replacing Mattia Binotto at the head of the Italian team in the month of January next year. And Binotto’s statistics are not in his favor either since Ferrari have won only seven races since he came into power in 2019.
Now, almost every Tifosi believes it is impossible for their favorite team to win the Constructors’ Championship with Mattia as the Team Principal. Thus, the news of Mattia’s replacement taking over the team did not disappoint most people who support Ferrari.
Ferrari’s Twitter statement sings a different tune than La Gazetta’s report on Mattia Binotto
The moment the rumor about Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto being replaced by Frederic Vasseur made the rounds on the Internet, it became the talk of the entire F1 town. And it was not long before the Scuderia got to know about the reports, and they quickly rushed to make their statement about the entire fiasco.
According to their tweet, “In relation to speculation in certain media regarding Scuderia Ferrari Team Principal Mattia Binotto’s position, Ferrari states that these rumours are totally without foundation.”

But it still remains a possibility that some of the Chiefs at the Ferrari headquarters might be thinking of bringing up some new leader for the team after Mattia Binotto’s failure to earn the Scuderia their first World Championship since Kimi Raikkonen’s title win in 2007. Thus, it goes without saying that fans will be looking forward to some massive change in the Ferrari team order in the upcoming seasons.
