Report: Nicholas Latifi to shift from F1 to IndyCar with new deal with Chip Ganassi Racing
Canadian racing driver Nicholas Latifi
After three seasons with the Williams F1 racing team ever since his debut in Formula One in 2020, Nicholas Latifi‘s contract termination with the British team was announced a few months earlier. And now, recent reports have revealed that the Canadian has been appointed as a new driver in IndyCar. This comes as a good news for the 27-year-old, who has only scored 2 points in this season, with three races still to go.
It had been quite some time since there was news going around in the Formula One community about Williams not continuing their appointment of Latifi, and the last nail in the coffin came in Monza, where Nyck de Vries, a replacement for Alex Albon, outperformed Latifi in both Qualifying as well as the Main Race despite coming for the Grand Prix as a result of a last-minute call.
On the other hand, Williams is yet to announce the name of the racer who will take Nicholas Latifi’s place for the next season. But according to the speculations, Logan Sargeant is the most prospective candidate for them, and that fact is being solidified by the fact that the racer will grace the Williams garage at the upcoming United States GP, alongwith some other celebrities like Chloë Grace Moretz.

Nicholas Latifi is all-set to join Chip Ganassi’s lineup in IndyCar
While Nicholas Latifi has not had an appreciably successful career in Formula 1, he is still capable of racing in other leagues of motorsports. The 27-year-old became a runner-up in the 2019 Formula 2 Championship, so it must be said that he is quite competent and has got some space. And now, fans believe he will get his deserved success as David Land’s report has disclosed that Latifi is entering IndyCar next year.

However, the particulars of Nicholas Latifi’s contract with Chip Ganassi in IndyCar is not known as of yet because it has not been announced in an official capacity. If the deal comes through, Latifi will become another racer to make the jump from F1 to IndyCar like Romain Grosjean and Marcus Ericsson.
