Former F1 managing director Ross Brawn revealed that the newly-built Las Vegas track was designed without temperature in mind. Brawn said that the temperature of the track could reach as low as 3 degrees Celsius. The track has multiple straights, which means the tires will keep cooling down throughout the lap.

The Las Vegas Grand Prix will be run for the very first time since 1986, as one of the most awaited Grand Prix of the 2023 season. The Las Vegas Strip Circuit has never held a race before now, as it was constructed just earlier this year. The race is the penultimate round of the 2023 season, before Abu Dhabi. Furthermore, it has garnered some criticism in the build-up up until now.

Ross Brawn believes that the event promises to be spectacular.

Initially we didn't consider that it is very, very cold at night. During the race the temperature may drop to 3-4 C°. Running cars at those temperatures will be a challenge. The tire supply company has done some work to make sure the tires can cope with this situation. We will certainly be faced with new challenges that we have never faced before, but I think it will be spectacular.

Pirelli, the new tire supplier for F1, has sorted out the tire issue in Las Vegas after beating Bridgestone. As the event approaches, people are wondering who might win. Max Verstappen is the top pick, but Lando Norris, who secured second place six times this season, could be a strong contender. Don’t forget Sergio Perez, who made a strong comeback in Brazil and, with the RB19, could give Verstappen a tough competition.

Las Vegas Grand Prix saved after union strike in the city was dissolved

The Las Vegas Grand Prix promises to be one of the biggest events in the city, and definitely among the most awaited for the 2023 season. Amid the hype surrounding the event, a serious issue emerged as unions such as the Culinary and Bartenders Union threatened to go on strike.

35,000 employees across 18 properties in LV claimed that they would begin a two-day strike that could wreak havoc on the Grand Prix unless their conditions were met. The unions said that with the amount of business coming to the city, the employees deserved higher wages. Fortunately, an agreement was reached that appeased the workers.
