While the world has been busy with contemplation over whether Haas would finally decide to keep Mick Schumacher for the upcoming 2023 season, or if he will have to walk out of F1 at the end of this year, the young German’s father has made headlines once again. Seven-time World Champion Michael Schumacher has not been seen publicly ever since his massive skiing accident in 2013. But the seasoned racer has always been in the news for his many accomplishments that he achieved during his years in Formula 1.
Recently, news broke out that Michael Schumacher’s 2003 Ferrari would go for auction in Switzerland, and the tips said that the price would go up to a sum north of $8 million. Now that the auction is done with, the F2003-GA has made history by becoming the second-most expensive car ever sold, as it has fetched a price of $13.2 million.
The auction was organized at Geneva, and London-based broker organization Sotheby’s looked over the entire programme. A telephone bidder finally won over the others as he proposed to pay 13 million Swiss francs for the Chassis 229.

The autioned 2003 Ferrari is a huge part of Michael Schumacher’s Formula 1 legacy
The Michael Schumacher era in F1 saw some marvelous cars, manufactured under the name of Ferrari, beat all their rivals to attain the top place in the Standings. The F1 2003-GA, which was put up for auction, served as Michael Schumacher’s race winning car at seven different Grands Prix as the German captured his sixth title in 2003.

The auction price of the Chassis 229, which comes with a V10 engine, has surpassed all of the previous records held by Michael Schumacher’s car. Before this, his 2001 Ferrari F2001 had sold for $7,504,000 by Sotheby’s. The car which has fetched the highest price ever, at an auction, is a Mercedes W196R, which sold for $29,650,095 in 2013.
