Scoot over Lewis Hamilton: Max Verstappen gets the tag of the highest-paid F1 racer of 2022 by Forbes Magazine

Max Verstappen, the two-time F1 World Champion, has recently been declared by Forbes Magazine as the highest-paid F1 racer of 2022.

Max Verstappen’s star in F1 has been on a massive rise since his 2021 Championship, and while he has comfortably breezed past the lights of Lewis Hamilton on track, the Dutchman has got the better of the Brit in financial terms as well.

The 25-year-old, as per Forbes Magazine is this year’s highest-paid F1 driver with a remuneration of $60 million from salary and bonuses.

Before Verstappen’s meteoric rise, Lewis Hamilton was the top dog in the sport who was leading the remuneration list of F1 drivers since 2013, however, as per the latest estimation, he has slipped to second with around $55 million as his earnings for 2022.

In the third spot, comes former 2-time World champion, Fernando Alonso who has taken around $30 million as salary for 2022.

Moreover, it has come to light that around a 25 percent spike in F1 drivers’ salaries has come this year.

Max Verstappen earlier in 2022, has pinned down a mega deal with Red Bull that is going to keep him on the team until at least the 2028 season of the sport.

He has put massive faith in Red Bull to keep delivering potent machinery, and considering how well the RB18 worked this year, the move has so far proved to be the right one.

In a short span of time, Verstappen has become one of the biggest names in the sport and it does not come as a huge surprise that he is the highest-paid driver of 2022.

Moreover, the way things are panning out for him, he is set to lead the salaries list for some time to come.
