Sebastian Vettel said sayonara to the pinnacle of motor racing at the end of the 2022 season. While he is no longer spreading his magic in F1, he has occasionally made appearances in old F1 cars this year. His most recent outing came at the Nurburgring, where he drove the iconic Red Bull RB7 and admitted that driving old cars on sustainable fuel is a lot of fun.
Sebastian Vettel, during his last few years in F1, was the protagonist of change in the sport in terms of moving toward sustainability in all its aspects. This year, the old cars that he has taken a spin in have all been run on sustainable fuel, and the German ardently believes that is the right way forward.
During his recent outing in RB7 at Nurburgring, he was seen having a lot of fun alongside the lights of Yuki Tsunoda and David Coulthard. While talking about his outing afterward, he told RaceFans, “‘Race without trace’ is having the car filled with synthetic fuels rather than conventional fuel – so we had no extra oil that needed to get pumped out of the ground.”
“As you could hear and see, the car is working and performing and we all had the same amount of fun, maybe even more fun. So it’s great to start telling a story by taking responsibility as well and that’s what I would like to inspire to people. I’m not telling people what to do. I’m just showing that it can be done in a better way, in a good way.”

Sebastian Vettel is dearly missed by his fans in F1
While Sebastian Vettel, with his recent outings, has been paving the way toward a sustainable method of racing, he is being dearly missed by his die-hard fans at the pinnacle of motor racing. Being a former 4-time F1 world champion, he has a huge fan following all over the world, and all of them are just waiting for him to come out of retirement.
During his last F1 campaign, he was running in a very poor livery and really did not have the chance of sparkling his magic. All the work he put in at Aston Martin during 2022 has helped the team immensely in developing a potent car for this year, and Fernando Alonso has been reaping the benefits of it.
Sebastian Vettel is a proven winner in F1 and is still a very sought-after driver. The day he decides to come out of retirement, there would be quite a few teams lining up for his signature. It is heavily believed that Vettel could make a comeback in 2026 when Audi takes control of the Sauber team.
