Sebastian Vettel claims one can’t compare Max Verstappen to Lewis Hamilton, says there is no ‘one recipe to success’

Max Verstappen, the reigning F1 World Champion, has set the world of motorsports alight with his terrific skills behind the wheel of the RB19 this year. He has amassed immense praise for his exploits, and the former 4-time world champion, Sebastian Vettel, has also applauded him but at the same time claimed that he can’t be compared to Lewis Hamilton.
Sebastian Vettel genuinely believes that both Max Verstappen and Lewis Hamilton are absolute greats of F1 in their own right. He does not think that the duo is comparable in any way as they both have had different journeys at the pinnacle of motor racing and have had their way of doing things.
While shedding light on the same in a light-hearted conversation with Sky Sports analyst Marin Brundle, he said, “You cannot compare Lewis to Max, there is not one formula, one recipe to success. Lewis has demonstrated that he is the best there has ever been, and Max is demonstrating it at the moment.”
“He is pulling off something that has never been done before. I think Max is a great driver, he is able to adapt very quickly. He is able to comfortable in the uncomfortable. He has learned and understood, I think, the sport and he will get better in that regard provided he is paying attention,” he added.
Max Verstappen broke Sebastian Vettel’s most consecutive wins record in Monza

While Sebastian Vettel has made it clear that Max Verstappen is not comparable to the other greats of F1, the latter recently broke the former’s F1 record that stood tall for a long time. Vettel, during his Red Bull days, scored nine consecutive race victories with the team, and Verstappen smashed this record at last week’s Italian GP.
Max Verstappen has seen a massive growth in its stature as a racing driver since securing his first world championship in a nail-biting tussle with Lewis Hamilton in 2021. Since then, he has never looked back and has quite easily annihilated his competition at the pinnacle of motor racing.
As things stand, Max Verstappen is on course to securing his third consecutive title, and while it has become a formality for him, one of his main targets for 2023 is to secure wins in all the remaining races of the season. The ongoing Singapore GP weekend is a major hurdle, and it would be fascinating to see whether he would be able to cross it with flying colors or not.
