Max Verstappen has won three consecutive world championships in F1. The way he has kicked off the ongoing campaign, he is on track to equalling former Red Bull driver, Sebastian Vettel‘s four consecutive titles record.
While there is a long way to go this year for Max Verstappen, Vettel has made it known that he wishes for the former to triumph at next week’s Japanse Grand Prix. Verstappen was able to secure the victory in last year’s event as well.
Sebastian Vettel has always considered Verstappen a special talent and wishes him the best ahead of next month’s event.
I believe that Max and Red Bull are still the favorites again in Suzuka. As I said, from a sporting point of view, it's nice when a bit more happens, but you can't forget the performance behind the dominance that Red Bull and Max in particular continue to show. You can't emphasize that enough. So I will be happy if Max returns to the top.Sebastian Vettel said in an interview with Sky Sports
Looking at how the ongoing campaign has panned out so far, the German believes that Red Bull and Verstappen are the favorites heading to Suzuka. Moreover, Vettel has admitted that he would be immensely pleased if the Dutchman wins the 53-lap Japanese Grand Prix.
Alain Prost claims Max Verstappen is ‘motivated’ to secure another world title
While Sebastian Vettel has backed Verstappen to win next month’s Japanese event, ex-F1 world champion, Alain Prost has admitted that the former is as motivated as ever to secure a fourth world championship. The 26-year-old won his first title in 2021 against Lewis Hamilton.
During the ongoing campaign, he has so far managed to amass two grand Prix wins out of the possible three.
To become world champion you have to combine speed with consistency. It’s not enough to win a few races. Once you win your first title, the philosophy changes. I don’t see Max as having a problem from this point of view. I see Verstappen as motivated on the way to a fourth title as he was a year ago on the way to a third.Max Verstappen said in an intrerview with Servus TV
The Dutchman amassed a highly impressive 19 Grand Prix win last year. He was on it from the get-go and was able to operate in a league of his own. He broke several records along the way and after the recent Melbourne disappointment, he will be raring to hit the ground running at the Suzuka International racing circuit.
