The Singapore GP has been deemed by several people all over the globe as the best race of the 2023 F1 season. It saw the dominance of Red Bull finally end, and its driver, Sergio Perez, was not a happy bloke at the event’s culmination. He was not pleased with quite a few things last night, but what pushed his buttons to the max was Lewis Hamilton not getting a penalty for his overtake on him.

The race at the Marina Bay Street Circuit was a hard-fought battle between all the F1 drivers. Surprisingly, there were quite a few close moments on the tight and twisty track. During the race, Sergio Perez was overtaken by Lewis Hamilton by the latter going outside the white line going into turn seven.

Perez expected a penalty heading the way of Hamilton for his shenanigans, but the stewards just let it slide. This has not sat well in the conscience of the Mexican, and while talking about the same after the race, he told RaceFans, “To me, it was clear that Lewis just [braked] really late and went off the circuit and gained an advantage.”

Something that we’ve got to understand going forward.” Looking at the reaction of the 34-year-old, it is quite clear that he genuinely feels the Mercedes driver’s overtake of him in Singapore was unacceptable. Moreover, he has shown his surprise toward stewards not acting on it.

Sergio Perez and Co. have to get their act together ahead of the Japanese GP

While Sergio Perez has let his frustrations known regarding the Singapore GP, he and the Red Bull F1 team do not have a lot of time on their hands to keep dwelling on what went wrong at the Marina Bay event. The Japanese GP weekend is slated to kick off this coming Friday, and Red Bull needs to sort out the RB19’s issues as soon as possible.

The Milton-Keynes-based team’s 2023 F1 car has been called ‘mighty’ by many pundits this year, but during the Singapore weekend, it wasn’t able to prove effective. Max Verstappen and Sergio Perez struggled throughout the three-day event, and this has been deemed as highly unusual as it has left several people scratching their heads.

However, despite the disappointment of Singapore, the RB19 is still a potent car and is expected to make a roaring comeback at the Suzuka International Racing Course. Red Bull managed a 1-2 finish last year and would look to replicate the same and shut the mouth of every person who has been bashing the team since the Singapore GP.
