The Las Vegas GP is perhaps the most unique F1 race in recent times. The Vegas street race is the first to be promoted by Formula 1 and Liberty Media. Moreover, the Grand Prix takes place on Saturday night at 10 pm local time. The entire schedule for the weekend has led to drivers complaining about jetlag. However, Lewis Hamilton has perhaps been the least affected by timings. Now, Red Bull’s Sergio Perez has asked for sleeping pills from the seven-time champion.
Hamilton had claimed that he has had no issues with the unique Las Vegas GP schedule. With the Briton continuing his normal training routine for the weekend. Sergio Perez reckoned that drivers will have to get some sleeping pills from the Mercedes driver. As Lewis Hamilton is the only one who seems to be perfectly fine with the Vegas timings.
We’ll ask Lewis for some of his pills! He seems to be the only one not suffering with it.
Sergio Perez said as reported by PlanetF1
However, Perez claimed that he would not be one of the drivers borrowing sleeping pills. The 33-year-old pointed out that he was used to such timings as he is from Mexico. Subsequently, Checo has learned how to deal with jetlag due to his numerous trips between his home country and Europe. This could perhaps be an advantage for Sergio Perez this weekend.
But no for me, I’m used to it. I come from Mexico so I spent so much time on the jetlag. So I’m used to it.
F1 drivers mention their ways to cope with jetlag in Las Vegas
After Perez’s comments on this matter, Haas’ Nico Hulkenberg mentioned that jetlag might affect some drivers more than others. The German admitted that this would be a challenge for most drivers this weekend. Subsequently, they would need to adjust and try to adapt to the timings as quickly as possible.
It’s going to be a challenge, and maybe you’re not going to feel super sharp on Friday or Saturday but I think it’s the same for all of us and we have to manage, cope the best we can.

Carlos Sainz revealed his strategy for coping with jetlag. The Spanish driver claimed that he would rely heavily on caffeine and the adrenaline from racing an F1 car. However, the Ferrari driver admitted that Thursdays have become difficult due to the continuous jetlag from traveling across the world throughout the F1 season.
I think come Friday, Saturday, Sunday, caffeine shots, espressos, or adrenaline of driving an F1 car normally removes the jet lag.I struggle more these days, long Thursdays. This is where I start to struggle a bit more.

Nevertheless, all drivers would be fit by the time of the Las Vegas GP. Lewis Hamilton and Sergio Perez might have adapted to the schedule sooner than their rivals. However, these are the best drivers in the world. As such, once the cars hit the track on Thursday evening in Vegas, all drivers would forget about this situation.
