Max Verstappen, the reigning F1 world champion, has been dominating the sport since the start of the 2022 season. He has operated in a league of his own and his last year’s campaign is a prime example of how dominant he has proven.

Max Verstappen broke a plethora of records last season. From winning 19 races to amassing a total of 575 points, he pulled off a mighty campaign.

Moreover, ahead of the upcoming 2024 campaign, Motorsport has revealed that he could break at least seven more records this year.

1. 3000 laps in the lead

Max Verstappen has a well-known knack for disappearing into the distance once he secures the lead of a Grand Prix. He crossed the mark of 1000 laps lead in a season last year but during the upcoming campaign, he could reach the mark of a staggering 3000 laps as the lead car. So far he has managed to lead 2,858 laps.

2. 200 Grand Prix starts

While the above-mentioned milestone is based on how he performs this year, he is guaranteed to reach the 200 grand prix starts mark. After the 2023 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the number currently stands at 185 and with the upcoming campaign being a 24-race calendar, he is guaranteed to reach the mark.

3. 100 podiums

The Red Bull F1 team won its 100th Grand Prix in Canada last year and also reached the mark of 250 podiums during the Hungarian Grand Prix weekend. A major part in all this was played by Max Verstappen, and as things stand, he could also reach his personal 100 podium mark this year. His tally currently stands at 98.

4. 3000 points

Max Verstappen won an impressive 19 races out of the possible 22 last year and thus, scored a truck-load of points. He has been competing in F1 since 2015 and to date, he has managed to amass 2,586.50 points. If things pan out the way they panned out during the 2023 F1 season for him, then there will be every chance of Verstappen reaching the 3000 points mark in the sport this year.

5. More victories than all Red Bull drivers combined

While reaching the 3000-point mark looks like a daunting task during the 2024 F1 season, Verstappen could secure the record of having more wins than all the Red Bull drivers combined. He has so far amassed 54 victories and when he reaches number 59, he will equal the combined wins tally of previous Red Bull drivers like Sebastian Vettel (38), Mark Webber (9), Daniel Ricciardo (7), and, Sergio Perez (5).

6. Top five on the F1 pole list

Max Verstappen is seen by several pundits as one of the best drivers to have ever stepped foot into F1. He is known for his blistering speed and, especially the stints, that he produces during the high-pressure qualifying sessions. He currently has 32 poles but with two more, he will pass Jim Clark and Alain Prost on the poles list, moreover, will see himself, in fifth place in the overall pole list. It is currently led by Lewis Hamilton with 104 pole positions.

7. Most victories for a single team

As mentioned earlier, the 26-year-old has been racing in F1 since 2015, but he joined Red Bull the very next year and has since, been making his trade with them. He so far managed to win 54 races with the Milton-Keynes-based outfit and he could reach second place on the list of most wins for a single team. The 2024 F1 season has 24 races and Michael Schumacher’s 72 wins record is within Verstappen’s reach.
