“Still an improvement” – F1 fans react to FIA World Council’s improved changes for the 2023 season
Max Verstappen and FIA
FIA comes out with demand changes for the 2023 season. With a better understanding of the situation, FIA has decided to make a further and improved design for their 2023 design to control more of their safety concerns. One of these changes is going to be a bigger mirror for a better vision for the drivers to track the cars coming from behind. Though it won’t solve the problem perfectly but would help the driver with a better perspective with a blind spot left.
Another change is going to be on the roll hoops and it is a change needed after the incident at the British GP. Zhou Guanyu’s accident opened the eyes and questions for a stronger and safer roll hoop after being crushed like a bread roll. That event led to a very vast discussion inside the FIA room and finally to the result of a better model for the loophole.
The third thing FIA would look into is the gird penalties after the mash-up that was created at Monza. Grid penalties were a major issue after the officials took hours to decide what the correct procedure was to decide the grid.
Fans’ reactions to the new FIA norms applied from the 2023 season
The chaos Zhou’s crash and Monza’s grid penalties created ultimately puzzled the fans with what exactly is going on in the FIA’s room. Safety measures are a major concern for the sport and so are following the rules.
The 2022 season has all been about Red Bull’s domination with Ferrari’s disaster class. The Bulls could very much go on and win the 2022 constructor title at Austin by winning the race.
