Nico Rosberg has gained notoriety for jinxing athletes or teams through his support. This phenomenon is observed with F1 drivers, football teams, and tennis players. Interestingly, whenever he endorses someone on social media, they suffer bad luck, leading to their defeat in games, races, or matches. The curse resurfaced at the 2023 Hungarian GP qualifying.
As usual, Max Verstappen was in top contention to extend his streak of pole positions this F1 season, as he put his RB19 on the provisional pole. However, in the dying stages of Q3, Lewis Hamilton managed to outqualify his former rival by a mere 0.003 seconds. The Brit claimed his first pole in two years, surprising everyone.
However, netizens were quick to attribute Hamilton’s remarkable pole position to Nico Rosberg’s infamous ‘curse.’ Before the start of the qualifying session, Rosberg took to Twitter and uploaded a selfie posing in front of Max Verstappen’s garage. Before you know it, the formidable Max Verstappen lost out on his eighth pole of the year.

A different Tweet echoed the same intention, “he did it for lewis i’m telling you.”
A user also urged Rosberg to repeat his infamous antics again, so his former teammate could emerge victorious for the 104th time. “He did it for lewis i’m telling you,” They Tweeted. While another user claimed it was Nico’s intention all along to wreck Verstappen’s possibility of securing pole. “he was praising lewis ALL morning and praying for red bull’s downfall.”
