“There are no punishments for race fixing,” Lewis Hamilton Fans demand FIA investigation into AlphaTauri’s DODGY tactics

It was a tremendously satisfying back to back Dutch GP victory for Max Verstappen as he managed to keep everyone in check. Lewis Hamilton on the other hand didn’t have the luck that Max had which also meant that he missed out on finishing on the podium alongside his teammate. One of the main reasons behind the 7 time world champion’s race being ruined was Yuki Tsunoda’s shenanigans on track which eventually lead to a VSC being deployed.
Mercedes surely had the pace to win this weekend. But a substantial amount of bad luck and wrong strategy calls meant that the team not only lost out on the win but also on finishing on the podium with both the drivers. Yuki Tsunoda effectively compromised Lewis Hamilton’s strategy as he stopped his car on lap 43 of the race after coming to a stop twice in a row on two consecutive laps. He suspected that the front left tyre on his car was loose and followed protocol.
After switching off the engine, Yuki was told by his engineers to switch the engine back on and return to the pits. When Tsunoda came into the Alpha Tauri pit box, his seatbelt was retightened and his tyres were changed. Although after coming out, he realised that the problem hadn’t gone away.
Yuki Tsunoda’s stop further caused the deployment of the Virtual Safety car. Before the VSC, Max had to make a pitstop which would put him behind Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.
According to the simulation run by Mercedes, Verstappen would have come back 8 seconds behind Lewis with 20 laps remaining had there not been a VSC. It allowed the reigning world champion to lose less time. The situation that led to the VSC was unusual and that is something that fans started speculating on and voicing their opinions.

After a bittersweet Dutch Grand Prix, Lewis Hamilton further went on to apologise to his team for his comments on the radio this weekend and also went on to applaud his mechanics for providing some very good pitstops during the race.
With such a big lead already, Red Bull just doesn’t have any reason to compromise a race like this just for their driver to win. But that won’t stop the fans from coming up with some crazy theories about it.
