“They could well be quick here,” Christian Horner expects to face stiff competition from Mercedes in the upcoming British GP

Red Bull and Mercedes

Christian Horner predicts a tough competition in round 10 of the 2022 season, with Ferrari already showing pace over the bulls in Canada and Mercedes coming with a package with a possibility of less bouncing that will give them a heads up on the front two. The Red Bull team principal fears both possibilities that might ruin the party in Silverstone.

Red Bull after the Australian Grand Prix has won all the races with Max winning 6 of them and Sergio Perez managing 1, the overpowered pace has given them a heads up to the second spot, Ferrari, with a 76 points lead. However, the season is still very long to see a switch in position and things might start to work towards the change in the British Grand Prix.

Horner talked about the fearing Mercedes’s dominance over the Silverstone track that might continue this season too, “I think they (Mercedes) could well be quick here. It’s a very smooth track here as you say and that allows them to run the car in the window that works for them,” the Red Bull team boss explained

Mercedes might not be the main concern the Bulls might have to think about right now, Ferrari as the title rival is now equally or more paced than the Red Bulls. With the Italian team on the tail looking for a comeback things might start to settle again for the Maranello team.

Horner speaks about the same thing,  “I hope what we brought keeps us in the mix with Ferrari at this type of circuit,” he said.

Although Ferrari is way behind the likes of the Austrian team in terms of points, this long season could cover a lot of things, including reliability issues.
