Mercedes is now seemingly neck deep in trouble due to the team’s own fault for shouting and protesting so vehemently against the FIA following the awful problems that their racer Lewis Hamilton had to face as his back got hurt fue to the porpoising in the Azerbaijan GP. The Stuttgart-based outfit has urged the leading authorities of Formula 1 to come up with a solution to the porpoising issue that has been plaguing the team since the beginning of this season.

While Mercedes expected a response from the FIA which would be in their favor, they realised that they had shot the bullet at themselves when the FIA issued a directive indirectly targeting Mercedes. Ted Kravitz, an F1 analyst for Sky Sports, dissects the technical directive” that the FIA have issued following repeated protests from Mercedes against the porpoising troubles.

According to Ted Kravitz, Mercedes will be hit the hardest because of FIA’s new technical directive

After a frustrating race in Monaco, Lewis Hamilton is hopeful for a better weekend this time out in Baku.

Right from the start of this year’s Formula 1 campaign, it has been quite apparent that Mercedes has been unsuccessful in dealing with the porpoising issue of their car unlike teams like Red Bull and Haas. Lewis Hamilton, Mercedes racer and seven-time F1 World Champion, had repeatedly complained of back pain due to the car’s repeated bouncing and he urged the FIA to take some actions.

Many racers like McLaren’s Daniel Ricciardo supported Hamilton’s demand. But in the end, the FIA decided to send an investigave team for the porpoising issue, and they also came up with a technical directive.

Ted Kravitz said, “So what Mercedes were wanting to hear from the FIA, was some kind of rule on maybe everybody raising their cars up so that the drivers wouldn’t get a bad back. Instead, what they got from the FIA, is almost a taskforce, a technical directive addressing the people whose cars are bouncing, namely Mercedes.

He further said, “So this is working against Mercedes and this could have a very negative effect on Lewis Hamilton’s season.
