The former seven-time F1 world champion, Lewis Hamilton, is losing faith in Mercedes’s W15. The car that was supposed to be a potent machinery and help the team bring back its glory days has now become the reason for the team’s utter frustration.
Since the start of the 2024 season, the Mercedes drivers have been struggling with the W15. With three races done and dusted, the team has failed to solve its issues. At first, everyone was optimistic about the repair of the fundamental issues but as the days go by, the team is losing hope.

Lewis Hamilton, who is in his last season with Mercedes, wants to make 2024 a memorable campaign. However, he has so far not managed to do so because of the issues on the W15. Mercedes’ team principal, Toto Wolff, has acknowledged the Brit’s frustration.
He’s in a situation obviously where on one side it’s super frustrating to see that we are not getting it. On the other side, look over the fence [at Ferrari] and it’s pretty good what’s happening there. But that is not his main priority today.Toto Wolff said in an interview with Silverarrows.net
Despite all the difficulties that Mercedes is going through, the seven-time world champion is trying to have a positive outlook. Aside from his frustration due to the lackluster performance of the W15, he has preferred to trust Mercedes and support them the best he can.
F1 pundit does not see Mercedes finishing in second place this year
Mercedes has so far not managed to produce solid results, the double DNF during last week’s Australian GP was a body blow for the team. Wolff and Co. were hoping to have a better weekend in Melbourne after the Saudi Arabian GP as they fixed their downforce issues with the car, but it turned out to be the opposite.

In a conversation, Sky Sports pundit, Karun Chandhok, mentioned that Mercedes won’t have a high finish this year.
The DNFs are bad but just in terms of their pace, they will be hugely disappointed. At no point did they look like being a close challenger to Ferrari or Mercedes in the race. For a team that finished second in the championship last year, it's looking tricky for them to repeat that this year.Karun Chandhok via Sky sports
The Mercedes W15 lacks raw pace in comparison to Red Bull and Ferrari. The Brackley-based team keeps claiming that this year’s machinery is not the twin of its predecessors, but, the car is lacking the performance the team expects. The upcoming Japanse GP could also prove to be another tough three-day outing for the German team.
