Toto Wolff claims Mercedes have the best F1 duo with Lewis Hamilton and George Russell
Lewis Hamilton and George Russell’s determination to win the world title with Mercedes is the reason for the latest contract extension.

Mercedes faced substantial challenges at the start of the season, resulting in just one podium finish in the initial six races. Amidst the roller-coaster performances, the seaosn was also marked by speculation surrounding Lewis Hamilton’s future, including rumors connecting the seven-time World Champion to a potential move to Ferrari earlier this year.
However, on Thursday, Mercedes officially confirmed that Lewis Hamilton will continue with the team until the conclusion of the 2025 season. Additionally, Hamilton’s teammate, George Russell, who joined the team at the beginning of 2022, extended his stay. It solidifies their partnership for the foreseeable future.
With Hamilton and Russell deciding to stay in the team, Mercedes’ team boss, Toto Wolff, firmly believes they possess the strongest driver lineup in the Formula One grid. Wolff expressed unwavering confidence in renewing their current driver pairing, considering them the strongest combination on the grid.
“Continuing with our current driver pairing has been an easy decision. We have the best pairing on the grid, and both drivers play a crucial role in moving the team forward…..our alliance with Lewis is one of the most successful in the history of Formula 1,” Wolff commented in an official statement, as reported by Soymotar.com.

Hamilton conveyed his strong desire to win and the team’s commitment to learning from their experiences, whether positive or challenging. He expressed gratitude for the team’s support and determination to achieve more goals together, vowing not to stop until they succeed.
“We have learned from every success but also from every setback.… I am grateful to the team that supported me both on and off the track. Our story is not over, we are determined to achieve more goals together, and we will not stop until we succeed,” he added.
