The Brackley-based Mercedes F1 team has failed to be at the front of the grid in 2023. The Mercedes drivers have not won any race this season, and only won a singular race in the past season. Despite the recent slump, Toto Wolff has declined his early exit from the team over this.

Questions were raised about the Austrian boss leading the Silver Arrows despite the degrading performance of the team. However, despite the hardships, Wolff declined to resign from Mercedes. As the 52-year-old felt that he could still contribute to the Brackley-based team in his area of expertise.

No, I don't, Because I still think that I can contribute to the team in my area of expertise.
Wolff said, as reported by racingnews365.com.

According to Wolff, the German team was kept together due to his expertise. But the Austrian was not hesitant in accepting his emotional behavior. Regardless of the emotions, the Mercedes crew knows the boss so well that it is not a problem even during tough Sunday nights. Hence Wolff remains confident on his contributions at Brackley.

And that is, I think, keeping it together, although I'm very emotional sometimes. But they know me so well, that I have these difficult moments on Sunday night. I can contribute.

Toto Wolff took accountability for the winless form of the team

The Austrian Boss acknowledged the recent winless form of the Silver Arrows. Toto Wolff made it clear that the team does not blame the driver for the bad performances. However, the 52-year-old accepted that the squad blamed the problem and not an individual. Wolff added how the team looks for a solution to any problem and does not fire people from the team over this.

In addition to addressing these issues, Wolff took accountability for the degrading form of the team. The Austrian claimed that if the team does not perform well, it’s his fault for not providing the right framework or not hiring the right personnel. Finally, the 51-year-old reckoned that it was senseless to blame someone as everyone was trying their best.

Mercedes needs to desperately work on their form to return to their olden winning ways. As the team puts back the disappointing season of 2023 behind, they prepare themselves for the challenges oncoming over the winter break. The Silver Arrows on multiple occasions, have raised faith in the development of the W15.
