The Mercedes Formula 1 team has had a huge struggle at the pinnacle of motor racing since the 2022 season. The current set of regulations have just not proven kind to them but amidst their struggles, its boss, Toto Wolff has urged his team not to give up and keep pushing on!!

Toto Wolff wants the people on the Brackley-based team to keep on doing their best under the current set of F1 regulations. He does not want them to wait for the next set of regulations to pose a serious threat in the world championship fight to the lights of the mighty Red Bull F1 team.

While shedding light on the same recently, he said, as reported by Motorsport.com;

I don't want to give up on the recovery and say, 'Well, let's wait for 2026, new car, new engine. There are two more important years to go. I want to see it as a testament to the strengths of the team that we are capable of recovering and racing for championships. That's our clear objective.

Looking at the reaction of the 51-year-old, it is quite clear that he wants the personnel at Mercedes to not wait for the next set of regulations but to come up with their best under the current ones and try to produce a championship-worthy car for Lewis Hamilton and George Russell.

Mercedes last competed for the F1 world title in 2021

While Toto Wolff wants Mercedes to not give up under the current regulations, the turbo hybrid era was the time, that belonged to his team. From 2014 onward, the outfit performed in a league of its own and by the time 2022 came around, wrapped up an impressive eight constructors titles.

However, since the end of 2021, the German team has just not been able to produce a good enough car that would be capable of fighting for the coveted world championship. The ongoing era has so far belonged to Max Verstappen and his Red Bull F1 team.

As Wolff mentioned, there are still two years remaining for the current set of regulations in F1. With 2024 just around the corner, it is going to be fascinating to see what kind of design concept the Mercedes F1 team will come up with for next year’s campaign of the sport.
