McLaren star Lando Norris recently expressed his disappointment and frustration at not winning a Formula 1 race since joining the sport in 2019, ahead of the upcoming British Grand Prix. Despite being under contract with McLaren until 2026, there have been speculations about Lando Norris potentially exploring other options due to McLaren’s disappointing performance at the beginning of the season. Max Verstappen has some advice for the Briton.

When speaking to the media, Max Verstappen advises the young British driver to resist seeking better opportunities elsewhere. Verstappen draws from his experience at Red Bull, where he remained committed despite moments when he considered leaving. According to Verstappen, his dedication has ultimately resulted in success.

“If Lando was in a race-winning car, he would win races. It’s as simple as that,” explained Verstappen at the British Grand Prix. Sometimes you have to stick to the process and you believe in the process. People can say: ‘Yeah, we believe in it.’ But you really have to believe in it. You really have to know and see that you are attracting the right people to make a winning team. And you really have to get everything into place. And I did trust our process around it,” said Max Verstappen.

McLaren and Lando Norris enjoyed a season-best result at the Austrian Grand Prix, where they astonishingly finished P4, ahead of Mercedes and the formidable Aston Martin. They will hope to emulate the same at Silverstone, their home race.

He specifically pointed out Lando Norris’s current struggles with McLaren as an example of this situation. Subsequently, Max Verstappen acknowledged moments when he had doubts about certain decisions and directions taken by Red Bull.

However, he emphasized his loyalty to the team and acknowledged that they were the ones who provided him with the opportunity to compete in Formula 1. Despite any uncertainties, Verstappen chose to remain committed to Red Bull. Verstappen’s commitment has undoubtedly paid off, as he is now on the verge of being crowned a three-time world champion, utterly dominating the grid.
