It just went from bad to worse for Lando Norris and McLaren. Everything that they have tried to do has gone horribly wrong. The cherry on the top has been the crash which their prodigy suffered crash involving. We all expected to see crashes and lock ups going into the race keeping in mind what we saw in free practice sessions and qualiftying.

We expected McLaren to build on from the result in Imola which saw Lando Norris clinch a podium finish. The driver has time and again said publicly that the car is not that fast but he still has been able to grind out the results after what was a catastrophic start to the season in the opener. But sadly it hasn’t gone to plan for the British team who seemed to have gone back to square 1 at the Miami GP.

Both Lando Norris and Daniel Ricciardo have had an average weekend to say the least as they have both struggled to get rack up any sort of raw. We still expected them to finish among the points but sadly, Lando Norris finished out of the points. What made it worse that both the Mercedes cars were able to secure points as both Lewis Hamilton and George Russell finished P5 and P6.

Lando Norris also made a mistake in qualifying which did cost me a couple of positions. He was evidently unhappy with the result. He said, “Maybe not the happiest. I made a mistake on my final lap, I didn’t go as quick as I did in Q2. I just made one small mistake, it just cost me so much.

“It hurt a little bit because I could have maybe been two positions ahead. The mistakes maybe cost me a couple of tenths and that would have been two positions.

“So a bit annoyed about that, but nevertheless I’m still happy. It was a tough day. I think we made good progress all weekend from where we were,” as reported by planetf1.

Let’s just hope it’s a one off for McLaren and Lando Norris and they can bounce back at the Spanish GP if they want to have a chance at the third place.
