Alonso had a great start to the 2023 F1 season, with Aston Martin developing arguably the second-fastest car. The 41-year-old has bagged six podiums in the first ten races of the season. However, the two-time world champion failed to stand on the top step of the podium. The Silverstone-based team has even fallen behind its rivals in recent races, further making things difficult for Fernando Alonso.

The 41-year-old has consistently been at the top of his game since returning to F1 in 2021. The Spanish driver has further improved his performances this season in a competitive Aston Martin. Although Alonso has faced stiffer competition in the last few rounds and lost out on being the best of the rest after the two Red Bull cars.

Thus, Fernando Alonso finally gave the long-awaited explanation behind his famous phrase. Fans of the two-time world champion had loved ‘El Plan’ with even Alpine putting the words on the rear wing of its car in 2021. However, the Spanish driver confirmed that he had gone past the era of this iconic term. With the 41-year-old now racing for Aston Martin.
