The United States GP turned out to be the origin of some huge controversies. It all started with the huge penalty that the FIA stewards imposed on Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc as their cars failed to pass their test. The two drivers, eventually, were disqualified from the race. Lewis Hamilton, who has already won in Texas for six whopping times, lost out on his podium finish because of the punishment given to him. And Charles Leclerc, even after grabbing pole ahead of the race at the Circuit of the Americas, had to walk home to Maranello with disappointment because of the disqualification.

But the drama did not end there as Lewis and Charles were asked about their punishment again at the press meet before the Mexican Grand Prix. The Mercedes racer commented on the fact that the stewards only checked a couple of cars while the others got a clean chit by default. He claimed that there must have been other drivers who could also have landed penalties similar to his had their cars been checked by the FIA. And in the middle of all this emerged a shocking video footage of Sergio Perez‘s car at the US GP that gave rise to even more controversy.

In the video, as reported by Auto-Motor-Und-Sport, it is seen that Checo’s RB-19 cut some corners at the Circuit even though he was not held accountable for it by the stewards. The fans have become livid since Lewis got disqualified while Sergio Perez, being a part of Red Bull, was seemingly not even reprimanded by the FIA.

The fans have always been vocal about FIA giving Red Bull the leeway when compared with their penalties for the other teams. But now, as Sergio Perez seems to have violated the track limits at the US GP and he did not even get any punishment for it, everyone blamed the stewards for favoritism.
