The Singapore GP has given fans one of the most exciting races recently. Carlos Sainz came home to take a hard-fought win after feeling the pressure from cars behind. However, George Russell had almost managed to make a move for the lead of the race, before the British driver went too far and binned his Mercedes into the barriers.
Russell was P3 in the ending stages of the Singapore GP, just ahead of teammate Lewis Hamilton. The Top 4 were separated by the smallest of margins with Sainz having to fend off Lando Norris and the two Mercedes. George Russell kept trying to get past Norris in the last two laps of the race but simply did not have the pace to overtake the McLaren.
By the final lap of the race, George Russell had become desperate to make a move. The British driver tried an ill-fated attempt to clinch second place. Unfortunately, Russell had gone too far and ended up in the wall. The 25-year-old lost out on a third-place finish in Singapore, which was grabbed by his teammate Lewis Hamilton. Certainly, a sad end for Russell after a tiring race.
