George Russell refreshed his memories of his junior days as he went back to karting with aspiring kids.

Multiple drivers and team members indulge in fun activities off the grid during the off-season and the winter break. As some drivers return from a lovely retreat alongside their partner or family, George Russell was spotted indulging in a wholesome activity. The Briton partook in go-karting alongside other kids.

George Russell raced alongside Toto Wolff‘s son Jack in a karting session at an undisclosed location. Multiple images and videos were shared on the Briton’s Instagram page. Additionally, the 25-year-old captioned the images as “Back to my roots.” It seems that Russell misses his junior days when he was just like the young kids passionate about the sport.

This fun activity between the Mercedes driver and the team principal’s son proves the closeness between the two. Hence, Russell took multiple rounds of the track with Jack Wolff. However, the exact details of the fun activity or the race results were not shared with fans. However, the duo definitely would have had a great time racing alongside each other ahead of the 2024 season.

Toto Wolff applauded George Russell for his performance in 2023 against Lewis Hamilton

The Mercedes’ performance in 2023 had been a rollercoaster. The two Briton drivers for Brackley had more or less similar performances down the season. Regardless, Lewis Hamilton emerged victorious over his teammate in terms of total points accumulated. Toto Wolff was satisfied with George Russell’s performance last season despite falling behind Hamilton.

Wolff insisted that Russell’s age and talent proved him to be someone that the Austrian boss would like to have on his team. Additionally, the 52-year-old iterated that the 25-year-old had met all his expectations during the season. Hence, Toto Wolff would like to keep Russell around the team for longer if he keeps up with this performance.

Mercedes has been preparing for the challenges in the upcoming season meticulously. Brackley had previously talked highly about the development of the challenger for the following season. Hence, the team awaits to finally unveil the W15 for the fans before the testing session. Additionally, the testing session is just under a month away and excitement starts to build up amongst F1 lunatics.
