Lewis Hamilton is the most decorated driver ever to compete in Formula 1, and he is considered among the greatest in the sport. Today, 7th January marks the F1 legend’s birthday, as Hamilton turns 39 years old.

Hamilton is known to be somewhat an adrenaline junkie, with adventurous escapades in the winter break. This was significantly marked in his birthday plans, as Hamilton revealed his thrilling wishes of snowmobiling, heliboarding, skydiving or surfing on his birthday.

I’d like to go snowmobiling on my birthday… Or heliboarding is something I really love, I’d love to skydive or catchnig a good 10-foot [wave] on my birthday would be really epic.

Hamilton had similar plans for the F1 off-season, as the seven-time world champion went hiking, cross-country skiing, and more. Hamilton has been appreciated all over social media and wished by fans for his 39th birthday.

Lewis Hamilton reveals motivation behind Mercedes contract extension

Lewis Hamilton at 39 is the second-oldest driver on the F1 grid, and many assumed he would be contemplating retirement at the end of his contract. However in 2023, Hamilton surprised many by extending his contract with Mercedes to drive beyond his 40th birthday.

The Briton revealed they team loyalty and motivation behind this extension and continuation in the sport. Hamilton said the potential of winning another world championship with the team is a huge factor in his loyalty to the squad. Hamilton also said that building his Mission 44 campaign with Mercedes is extremely important to him.
