Lance Stroll has become the center of attention in Qatar after the qualifying. But it is all for the wrong reasons, as the 24-year-old displayed an utter lack of professionalism after an upsetting result. Stroll was knocked out again in Q1 and will start P17 on Sunday. After an incident with his trainer in the garage, Stroll gave an obnoxious interview for which he has been getting a lot of criticism on social media.

A frustrated Stroll did not try to hide his aversion towards the interviewer as he gave impolite answers. Asked how he was feeling, Stroll replied, “Sh*t,” for which the journalist was forced to apologize. After two more questions without real answers, Stroll walked away without finishing the interview.

The Canadian driver will start Sunday’s GP at P17, while his two-time F1 world championship-winning teammate Fernando Alonso will start at P4 after the McLaren driver’s fastest lap time was deleted. Stroll needs to produce a solid performance, starting from tomorrow’s sprint qualifiers, to justify extending his stay in Formula One.

Lance Stroll was labeled as an ‘entitled pr**k’ after his interview

Stroll’s demeanor in Qatar has not gone down well with the fans. His poor performances, coupled with his rude conduct, are getting him to catch a lot of heat on social media. One fan posted that Stroll is done with the sport. Another user posted that Stroll no longer desires to be there and asked when he is getting sacked. One person even said that Stroll does not belong there and that “It’s over.”

On pushing his trainer, one user posted, “Predictable & disgusting billionaire’s son behavior.” Even former F1 driver Karun Chandhok expressed his disagreement with Stroll’s reaction on Sky Sports. However, Stroll pushing his trainer is still not confirmed due to a wall blocking the camera while the incident occurred.

Many fans have alleged that the only reason Stroll is still retaining his seat with Aston Martin is due to his father’s ownership of the team. Apart from his post-qualifying interview, Stroll allegedly shoved his trainer into the wall. While Stroll’s frustration is understandable, a certain amount of dignity is expected from the drivers, which they should uphold despite the results.

Stroll has further set the odds against him after today. With just six races remaining, the patience of his father Lawrence Stroll and Aston Martin could soon run out. All of his further appearances on the track will be crucial in deciding whether he stays in F1 next year or not.

Lawrence Stroll could sell Aston Martin after repeated upsetting outings from Lance Stroll

Lance Stroll has fallen short time and again this season. As the gap between him and Fernando Alonso keeps on increasing, it is rumored that Stroll might leave F1 sooner than anyone expected. His disinterest in the sport also allegedly prompted Lawrence Stroll to sell the team.

Lawrence Stroll bought Aston Martin in 2020, wanting to make a place for his son in F1. However, after driving for more than two seasons for them, Stroll has not shown big improvement. It is reported that Lawrence has a deal worth $800,000,000 for the team. The most probably buyers are said to be from Saudi Arabia, in midst of the country expanding into different sports.

Lance Stroll has cost Aston Martin nearly $2,600,000 in damages this season. His car-splitting crash in Singapore alone cost the team a whopping $1,262,000. As the season comes into its finishing stages, the team will be faced with a difficult choice of whether to retain Stroll for 2024 or not.
