Lewis Hamilton to be long-term Mercedes ambassador?
Hamilton’s contract with Mercedes runs out at the end of 2023. The 7-time world champion has been in discussions with Toto Wolff‘s team over a renewal for some time now. However, the deal is yet to be finalized between the two parties. Previously, it was believed that Lewis Hamilton’s demand for a 10-year ambassador role with the Silver Arrows had proved to be an issue in the contract negotiations.
However, Wolff dismissed such claims straightaway. The Mercedes team boss remains confident that Hamilton will soon put pen to paper on a new contract with the team. The 38-year-old is keen on staying at Brackley despite rumors about Ferrari’s alleged interest in the 7-time world champion. Although, for now, the British driver is happy to test out new Mercedes machinery.
Thus, Lewis Hamilton got his hands on the all-new Mercedes AMG GT. The 38-year-old drove the $125,000 machine in the desert and did some donuts to test it. Certainly, it was a fun affair for the 7-time world champion. Perhaps, this run could convince Hamilton to get this beast in his garage in the future, maybe even as a bonus from the F1 team.
