Some Max Verstappen supporters in Hungary or ‘The Orange Army’ as they are commonly referred to as don’t seem to have taken anything away from what went wrong in Austria. Video footage of one such fan has been released where the man is setting Lewis Hamilton’s merchandise ablaze.

Things went wrong during the Austrian Grand Prix a few weeks back. Fans would have abused ladies and used racial slurs. Ahead of the Hungarian Grand Prix on Saturday, Formula 1 put out a statement with the hashtag #DriveItOut, but for the time being, some fans don’t seem to want anything to do with it.

In Hungary, things went awry again on Friday. On footage, Verstappen’s purported Hungarian “fans” can be seen frolicking and incinerating Hamilton merchandise. Journalist Jennie Gow responds to the distressing video by saying that she assumed the environment was positive. The N-word was yelled at her because she was holding a Hamilton banner.  The claims were alleged to be made by inebriated guys.

It is also to note that there have been multiple such reports of harassment in the past few race weekends, notably in the Austrian Grand Prix. One female Lewis Hamilton supporter claims that inebriated fans lifted up her dress and told her that just because she backed the seven-time champion, she didn’t deserve to be respected.

One purported Verstappen supporter was seen on camera lighting a black Mercedes cap on fire while grinning widely. The guy in question nearly burned himself during the stunt before discarding the hat in a hurry.
