The 2024 F1 season will soon be underway as the three days of testing session conclude. Hence, the excitement levels of fans rise through the roof. Apart from the season’s commencement, the popular Netflix Docuseries has released the sixth season of Drive to Survive. As such fans can enjoy the ten-episode show before the first race of the season, just over a week away.
Max Verstappen was vocal about his dissatisfaction with the ‘show’ aspect of the inaugural Las Vegas GP. The Dutchman previously mentioned that the entire race weekend was ‘99% show’ and 1% racing and wasn’t fully on board with the spectacle of the GP. However, the 26-year-old later did a 180 with his comments and later applauded the entire race weekend and sang a song to honor his win at the race.

However, the episode of Drive To Survive highlighted the entire behind-the-scenes of the Las Vegas GP’s opening ceremony for driver introductions. Verstappen had humorous comments for the grand introduction and he wasn’t fully on board with the idea. The reigning world champion hilariously asked if they could hide while the drivers were raised on the platforms to the fans.
Can we Hide......?Verstappen said, as depicted on Drive to Survive (H&T: @leclercletters/X).

George Russell confused by Las Vegas GP opening ceremony plans
George Russell also expressed confusion about the plans for the entire drivers’ introduction before the event. Hence, the Briton raised questions about what to do during the show. Russell thought that the drivers would play something when they were brought up on the stage during the inaugural show.

The 26-year-old questioned what they were going to play when the announcer was explaining to the drivers what the do. The entire moment amused all the drivers as this was something never done before in the history of F1. Hence, everyone was as confused and clueless about what to do and the majority of the drivers weren’t comfortable with the show that was in progress for the drivers.
Regardless of the backlash over the entire Las Vegas weekend, the race turned out to be a great success. Hence, the grid prepares for the first race of the 2024 season as the testing session provides the drivers and fans with a rough idea of what to expect down the season.
