“We aimed to be competitive,” Ferrari confident of winning both championships by 2026

Ferrari's pit stop confusion at the Monaco GP
Ferrari hasn’t won a single title since 2008, they struggled through tougher times after getting close and losing out on the title. 2022 started off amazingly for the Italian team. But as of now, things aren’t really much into their hands with almost lost title hopes for the 2022 season. Though Ferrari has got competitive, it’s still a matter of time for them to get the title back in Maranello.
In 2007 Kimi Raikkonen won his first and Ferrari’s last drivers title. 2008 wasn’t really a direct win but anyhow the Italian team won their last constructor titles. Since then 14 years have passed with no hands-on championship by the Italian team. Though there were years when the team closed up to the title but lost out by a certain margin. Other few years they weren’t really competitive.
Though 2022 was a different season for the Italians, after the struggles in the last 2 years, Ferrari managed a comeback. F1-75 is a very competitive car, fighting on the top, battling for victory. But reliability and strategy are something that caused both the driver and the team a very easy title-winning chance.

John Elkann optimistic about Ferrari reinstating

John Elkann, CEO of Ferrari is very optimistic after a strong position in the 2022 season. His team struggled a lot with their pace in the last few seasons and also with reliability. But this season Ferrari came out to be very strong with a decision to prove everyone wrong.
Though it ended up no good, the CEO still believes in his team in the winning way, “We aimed to be competitive first and foremost. If you are not competitive, you have no margins. You can work on reliability. I am confident that Ferrari will return to winning both titles by 2026,” said CEO.
Ferrari has lost out on the championship to Red Bull with a difference of 134 points. Charles Leclerc is behind Max Verstappen with 109 points. The next race being in Italy, Ferrari will give it all to win at their Home ground.
