“We don’t want some American driver,” Fans criticise Logan Sargeant on a possible seat as a Williams second driver
Logan Sargeant
Logan Sargeant got his chance in Formula 1 at his home ground. Williams came out with their preference for giving a chance to a junior driver at the USA GP. Logan did drive the car and finished P19 which was an excellent performance to start with. He was just 0.2 seconds behind his F2 rival Theo Pourchaire.
Besides the F2 rival , Logan beat ex-Formula 1 driver Antonio Giovinazzi in a Haas. Logan did perform with the worst-performing car on the grid as per the championship points. While his colleagues did have a better car than him. Robert Shwartzman, in a Ferrari, was the best of the rookies in the session, finishing just 16th.
But there is a chance for Logan to get himself permanently stabled inside a Williams. Williams Team Principal Jost Capito announced a possible chance for Sargeant to become a second driver at Williams if he gets himself enough Super licence points to his account. “After Abu Dhabi, he will be our second driver next year,” said the team principal.
Fans’ reaction to an incoming Logan Sargeant contract for the 2023 season
Fans aren’t really happy with Logan being a priority as a driver for the 2023 season. Fans criticise the team to get along with an American as their primary driver. Some fans even draw it to the possible chance for the team to get themselves a bag of cash.
Williams is currently in the last place on the table but has a better scoring record than the previous season. Their only expectation is to get themselves on a midfield to the top team in the coming years.
