“We need to speak with the team,” Charles Leclerc left frustrated after yet another ‘stradegy’ at the Hungarian GP

Charles Leclerc

Charles Leclerc looked puzzled after we witnessed another disaster class from Ferrari. Ferrari strategists have been under view from millions of fans after messing up the strategy that resulted in missing out on a few wins. Hungarian Grand Prix just added one to it after Charles lost out to Max Verstappen once again. Ferrari could now count itself out of the championship hunt after gifting another win to its rival, Red Bull.

Charles Leclerc had an amazing first half of the race with a fight for the lead that he successfully won. But as the race progressed Leclerc was put under a Hard compound tyre as a gamble that didn’t really pay off. With Alpine already struggling Hard, Ferrari’s strategist made a foolish decision to let its driver suffer the same situation. It ultimately took away Leclerc’s lead and he had a decent fight with Max that he lost afterwards.

Charles himself was baffled by the team’s decision and tried obstructing them with his own. But he had to follow the team’s orders which led to a poor result.

“We need to speak with the team and understand the thought behind putting [on] the hards because I felt very strong on the mediums. Everything was under control and for some reason, I don’t know why we need to go onto [the] hards, so I don’t know,” said Charles Leclerc.

Charles looked comfortable in Mediums and he himself knew that. With still some decent laps to race on with, Leclerc would have managed to keep himself in the lead even with the old tyres.

“I said on the radio I was very comfortable with the mediums and that I wanted to go as long as possible with those tyres because the feeling was good,” explained Charles.

Charles Leclerc is now 80 points behind Max Verstappen and this could easily be considered a defeat in the championship. Ferrari is also around 100 points behind Red Bull with Mercedes strongly looking forward to the second position.
