Max Verstappen has managed to secure a P3 finish during the qualifying session of the United States Grand Prix, but despite that, he has sounded a bit dejected after ending up behind the Ferrari duo of Charles Leclerc and Carlos Sainz.

Max Verstappen was not able to put in a stonking lap during the closing stages of the Q3 session and that cost him dearly in his attempt to secure P1.

While talking about his exploits after the session, Verstappen added, “It’s been bad news for everyone. What he has meant for Red Bull and for the sport and especially for me. What he has done for me and my life… really tough. It’s a tough day but we tried to give it everything today, but unfortunately missed out.”

Charles Leclerc has got a 10-place grid penalty to serve for the upcoming race and is going to drop down from his current P2 slot to around P11 on the grid.

Moreover, while talking about his exploits, Leclerc added, “It is really difficult with the wind. The car changed lap after lap but overall I did my best. The last lap wasn’t the best. Carlos did a good job today.

He deserves to be on the pole. I am starting further back because of the penalty but the goal is to try and come back to the front as quickly as possible. We are starting 11th or 12th. No crazy risks. If there are opportunities I will take them.

The Monegasque is determined to take advantage of any opportunities that would present themselves during the race, however, has also stressed that he is not going to take any unnecessary risks.

Considering that Leclerc is going to start the race quite a few grid positions back in comparison to Verstappen and Sainz, according to you, how much of an impact would he be able to make during the United States GP?
