“We want to be here forever,” Las Vegas blatantly makes its intention clear of being on F1 calendar for eternity
Las Vegas
Las Vegas is going to host its first F1 race next year and ahead of the much-awaited event, the organizers of the Las Vegas Grand Prix have made their intention clear by declaring that they want to be on the F1 calendar forever.
Moreover, as per the reports, it is a common belief that Las Vegas is getting offered a three-year deal by F1, but the organizers are not at all pleased with it and are pushing hard to have the race every year from 2023 onwards.
Next year, F1 cars will go around the Las Vegas track for the first time in the sport’s history and it will be the third track in America that will host an F1 race.
Currently, America has got Austin and Miami on the calendar, and with Las Vegas also getting on the calendar for next year, the hype in the US is huge.
Las Vegas Grand Prix’s Chief Commercial Officer’s take on the mega event
As things stand, there is a lot of excitement among fans regarding the 2023 Las Vegas Grand Prix, its Chief Commercial Officer, Emily Prazer while talking about the event has said, “From our point of view, we purchased a piece of land to have a race here. I don’t think there’s any intention to only be here for three years. We want to be here forever.”
Prazer has blatantly made her intention clear and indicated that Las Vegas wants its place on the F1 calendar forever, and not for the three years that the sport is offering.
Moreover, Prazer believes that the event is going to demand a lot of investment, and ardently feels that it would just be right if the event is on the F1 calendar for a longer period.
It cost the organizers around $240 million just to purchase the plot where the race is going to take place, and considering that a lot more expenses are going to head their way as the track would start to take shape, can you see the Las Vegas Grand Prix on the calendar forever?
