“We win and lose together,” Lewis Hamilton thanks fans for their unwavering support
Lewis Hamilton
Lewis Hamilton had a frustrating race in Monaco. He was out-qualified by his teammate George Russel, with Fernando Alonso splitting them in 6th and 8th respectively. The race start was delayed by almost an hour and happened in extremely wet conditions. However, things started drying up pretty quickly after around 15 laps of the race.
For a time, Lewis Hamilton was locked into a battle with Esteban Ocon. Esteban Ocon was also penalized for contact on the approach to Sainte-Devote. After the round of pitstops, with teams going on slick tires, Hamilton emerged ahead of Ocon but behind Alonso. This was where his misery truly began.
After the session was red-flagged due to Mick Schumacher’s terrifying crash, the race went ahead again after a rolling start. This time, Hamilton had to cope with the other Alpine, Fernando Alonso for the whole race. Alonso held the pack up, and Hamilton was stuck behind him for the rest of the duration of the race.

Lewis Hamilton was apologetic to his fans for not giving them joy this year
After an extremely frustrating race, Lewis Hamilton took to social media to apologize to his fans for his current situation in the paddock. Writing on his Instagram story, Hamilton first expressed his gratitude towards his fans, thanking them for their support.
“I just wanted to thank you all for your unwavering support, I can’t express how grateful I am for those I saw this weekend and for those watching at home somewhere in the world. I appreciate you and I hope you had a great weekend.”
Then, he apologized to his fans but affirmed that he will not be giving up at all, and there may certainly be many more occasions for joy during the season. “I’m sorry I haven’t given you any great results this year but I won’t give up. We win and we lose together. Tomorrow’s a new day to rise.”
Recently, Lewis Hamilton has also gotten an extension to his exemption for the jewelry ban, after a public row with the FIA over the issue. The exemption was supposed to expire in Monaco, but it has been extended. The British driver will hope for better fortune moving forward into the rest of the season. Hamilton is currently in sixth place on the championship table, 33 points behind fifth placed Carlos Sainz and 34 points behind fourth-placed teammate George Russell.
