Lewis Hamilton and Fernando Alonso had their fair share of intense rivalry back in the day. With Hamilton and Alonso being teammates and fighting their ways for the title to stop the other one from getting his title. 2022 had yet another moment between the two legends after they had a collision that ended the race for the seven-time world champion.

Fernando Alonso and Lewis Hamilton started right beside each other at the Belgian GP. As the race started they both tried they move on each other which led to a collision at turn 5 with Hamilton flying around outside the track. The flight damaged Hamilton’s car and ended his race breaking the streak of all finishes throughout the season.

Fernando got furious about the crash and it was pretty obvious after his reaction on the radio. “What an idiot! Closing the door from the outside. I mean, we had a mega-start but this guy only knows how to drive and start in first!” said Alonso.
Lewis on the other hand was asked about Fernando’s radio message to which he replied, ” I don’t care,”.

Fans are enjoying the fight between the old rivals as this could be the end of their career and the last of fights we ever witness. Twitter brings out various pics and memes of Driver in their own way of responding to the crash.

One of them edited a cap signed by Lewis and mentioned giving it to Fernando saying, “Lewis realised he lives rent-free in Alonso’s head so he sent him a gift after Spa. What a thoughtful king!”.

Fernando Alonso is moving on to 2023 with Aston Martin and Lewis Hamilton is staying with Mercedes for another season. The battle could get better only if we see the two fight like old times on track with a competitive car.
