Williams Chief James Vowles is convinced Alex Albon and Logan Sargeant are ‘capable of fighting for points’ with their all-new FW46
Williams F1 Racing Team are a legendary squad with multiple World Championship titles to their name, but I'm recent times, the team has hardly seen their racers score any points.

Williams’ became the third team to showcase their livery for the 2024 season, with the unveiling of FW46 this evening in New York City. The driver lineup of Alexander Albon and Logan Sargeant would take the car up to its limits on a filming day later down the line.
Williams had appointed James Vowles as their team principal replacing Jost Capito after the end of the 2022 season, and the team has witnessed progress since Vowles took up the role. The Englishman is usually seen critically evaluating his team’s progress using his experience from his days at Mercedes, and implementing how various measures are to be adopted.
The FW46 has been the focus of the team for many months and there is still a tremendous effort going in from everyone at Grove [headquarters of Williams] to deliver our challenger for this year. As we look to build on the momentum from last season, we have a driver line-up in Alex and Logan that is capable of consistently fighting for points while helping lead our development for the future.James Vowles said, as reported by GPblog.com
According to Vowles, the team has progressed both on the track and off the track, as commercially the team has achieved a lot by unveiling its car in the fashion capital of the world. He aims to finish higher in the constructor standings this year but hopes to fight for points every weekend.
How did Williams salvage the 2023 season from going down the drain?
The season for Williams began as a season to be forgotten and how the car was lacking behind its competitors in terms of both qualifying and race pace. The design philosophy of the 2022 car was taken along to the next season which proved quite troublesome.

However, as the car visited multiple tracks, some tracks proved to be more beneficial for the track than others. The car was fast in tracks where a low-drag setup was required, this enabled Albon to earn 27 points across the season. On the other hand, Sargeant only scored a single point across the 22 Grand Prix.
The team dynamics at Williams was a single-handed affair and Albon dominated his rookie teammate throughout the season. Vowles and fans can expect more from the driver pairing this year as both have gained experience and the car is expected to be much faster.
