Lando Norris failed to win the 2024 Drivers’ title after a head-to-head battle with Max Verstappen. The McLaren driver just did not have enough to topple the reigning world champion. Now, 2016 F1 champion Nico Rosberg has pointed the potential reason for Norris’ loss.

Rosberg insisted that Lando Norris has matched the best in the sport in terms of raw speed this season. The German reckoned that even against Max Verstappen, the 25-year-old had enough pace to battle wheel-to-wheel.

He has shown raw speed on a level, I would say, with the best. So even with a Max Verstappen, the raw speed is there. It’s very, very phenomenal.

On the other hand, Nico Rosberg highlighted that Lando Norris has faced a few issues this year. The former world champion claimed that some ‘inner demons’ held the Briton back in the title fight. As Norris would often make a mistake or two.

Where we’ve still seen a little bit of issues for him is he has some inner demons in his mind, which results in one or another mistake.

Nico Rosberg pinpoints Lando Norris’ near-miss moment

Lando Norris dominated the Singapore GP this year, winning by a 20-second lead over Max Verstappen. However, Nico Rosberg pointed out that there were two instances where the McLaren driver almost crashed out of the race. So much so, that Rosberg labeled the situation as ‘extreme.’

The most notable was really Singapore where he was leading the race for 20 seconds and two times he almost crashed out. It was even a bit strange that it was so extreme.

Nico Rosberg noted

Certainly, Norris needs to work on himself before the start of next season. The 25-year-old now has the car to fight for the world title against someone like Max Verstappen. Though, it will al be in vain if Norris is unable to get the most out of him.
