Former world champion Nico Rosberg has shared his thoughts on the highly competitive McLaren duo Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri. The two drivers have been in sensational form for the Papayas, securing five wins and 18 podiums this season.

Lando Norris stands second in the drivers’ championship, 52 points behind Max Verstappen after his dominant victory in Singapore. Oscar Piastri, on the other hand, is fourth but has been equal with his teammate in performance.

Nico Rosberg has compared the two drivers and deemed Piastri to be the more mentally stable one. He also said that Norris seemingly has more pace, which is the key reason for his championship standings.

Lando is the one who has the more special speed up front, but I don’t think he is as mentally stable as Piastri.

The Woking-based team leads the Constructors’ Championship currently by 41 points, with Red Bull in second place. Norris and Piastri’s contributions have been crucial so far and the two will continue to put in the same efforts going forward.

Lando Norris downplays the effect of alleged flexi-wing upgrade on McLaren

McLaren has been accused of using a mini-DRS or an illegal rear wing since their heroics at the Azerbaijan GP earlier this month. Lando Norris has since shared his thoughts on the matter after securing a win of over 20 seconds to Max Verstappen in Singapore.

We’ve not changed anything on the car from here to last weekend or the weekend before. We’ve even had to make tweaks to some of our wings and things that people have complained about. But we still had a great weekend, and probably one of our most dominant weekends here, so I don’t think that’s made the difference. The car’s been mega for a good amount of time.

Norris has claimed that the Papayas have not implemented any changes to the MCL38 since the past few weekends. The 24-year-old then claimed that his team has been dominant on most weekends, thereby discrediting the advantage of the wing allegations.

The MCL38 has been the fastest car on the grid since Miami earlier this year. So far, there has not been any investigation for an illegal wing on the team by the FIA. The team will therefore look to continue with their developments as they eye silverware for the first time since 2008.
