Ex-champion Nico Rosberg claims Max Verstappen belongs to the ‘TOP FIVE OF ALL TIME’ in F1

After Max Verstappen secured another win at the Chinese GP, Nico Rosberg believes that his name definitely belongs to the top five of the all-time F1 list. The Dutchman is well known for breaking records and for being relentless in his quest for winning.

Max Verstappen has won four races out of five that took place this season, being the highest point scorer he sits at the top of the chart. Since 2022, he has pretty much been the man to beat at the pinnacle of motor racing.

After the Dutchman won the sprint and the race in Shanghai, Nico Rosberg couldn’t help but shower immense praise on him.

I mean, the top five, I see it as [Juan Manuel] Fangio, [Lewis] Hamilton, [Michael] Schumacher, [Ayrton] Senna, and then Verstappen will slot nicely into that.

Verstappen currently has a long-term contract with Red Bull which is set to end in 2028. Taking advantage of Adrian Newey’s vision with the RB20, the Dutchman has shown immaculate performance.

Jos Verstappen hasn’t ruled out Max Verstappen’s possible move

Since the start of the season, the reigning world champion, Max Verstappen has been linked with Mercedes because of the ongoing unrest within Red Bull. The Dutchman’s father, Jos Verstappen was peculiarly not happy with how things went down with the team principal’s controversy and its repercussions for the team.

Despite Verstappen making it clear that he has no intentions to move, his father, Jos Verstappen has left the door open.

I think everyone wants him, but I think Max is in a good place at the moment. He has a fast car, but we also have to look further to 2026, so we are letting everything happen at the moment.

The ongoing regulations are going to stay in place until the end of the 2025 season. After that, the playing field is again open and Jos feels that he and his son has to make a decision regarding the future keeping this in mind. The upcoming months will be a fascinating to watch in determining where the 26-year-old ultimately ends up for next year.
