Red Bull claims Daniel Ricciardo was ‘informed’ over impending sacking

RB did not utter a single word on Ricciardo’s future during the Singapore GP. It was the Australian driver who admitted that his F1 career was likely coming to an end. Red Bull Motorsport Consultant Dr. Helmut Marko has revealed that the team had informed Daniel Ricciardo that he would be replaced by Lawson from the US GP. Additionally, Marko reckoned that the Honey Badger signed off in style by setting the fastest lap of the race.

He was informed, and the worthy farewell performance was, I think, the fastest lap.

Helmut Marko told Motorsport-Total

Certainly, many are sad to see Daniel Ricciardo be forced out of Formula 1 once again. Unfortunately, the Australian driver failed to make a mark and F1 is a brutal sport. However, one must remember that Ricciardo did achieve a lot in his prime and would remain as one of the most talented drivers of the past decade.
