Red Bull shocked the F1 world when Daniel Ricciardo hinted that the Singapore GP might be his last race in F1. It became apparent that Liam Lawson will replace the Australian driver at RB from the US GP. Some fans are not thrilled with RB’s decision.

Ricciardo was in an emotional state at the end of the Singapore GP. The Honey Badger wanted to soak in every aspect of Formula 1. This was a surprise as there was no official statement made by RB heading into the weekend.

However, the Red Bull sister team confirmed on September 26 that Daniel Ricciardo was being released from the team. Subsequently, RB announced Liam Lawson as Ricciardo’s replacement for the remaining six races of 2024. Lawson expressed his excitement over his full-time seat at the Faenza-based squad in a video posted on X.

Fans furious on RB’s decision to sign Liam Lawson

Fans on X did not hold back their anger. Many users abused Liam Lawson in the comments section. One fan called the Kiwi driver a ‘bozo’ who should shut up. The fan replied, “Shut up bozo, nobody wants you.” While another user simply wrote, “F**k you.”

Moreover, one user commented that Lawson was a ‘fraud’ who no one cared about. The user stated, “No one cares about you fraud.” Another fan even instructed the Kiwi driver to not embarrass himself further. The fan said, “Stop being embarrassing.”

Fans must understand that Liam Lawson does not deserve hate comments over his seat at RB. The Kiwi driver was not the one who made the decision to sack Daniel Ricciardo. Abuse to any person is unjustified and it can take a severe toll on one’s mental health. Lawson has not commented on the negative comments he has received yet.
