VCARB parted ways with Daniel Ricciardo following a string of disappointing performances which saw him pick up just 12 points this season. After his exit from Formula 1, he received a lot of support from fellow drivers and various teams on social media. Among them was McLaren CEO Zak Brown, who reflected on Ricciardo’s time with the team.

The Woking-based squad signed Daniel Ricciardo in 2021 as Carlos Sainz opted to move to Ferrari. Zak Brown reflected on their time together following his F1 exit. He praised Ricciardo, calling him a supremely quick driver as well as a great person to be around. Brown also highlighted the Australian’s memorable victory in Monza.

Daniel, you’re one of a kind. A supremely quick driver and an awesome person to be around. Your win in Monza will forever be etched into McLaren’s history.

He mentioned watching the 35-year-old drive the Dale Earnhardt Sr.’s 1984 Chevrolet Monte Carlo around the Circuit of the Americas (COTA). Brown also wished Ricciardo all the best in his next adventure, confidently stating that he would excel in whatever he chooses.
