Piastri finished the session in third place, behind Norris and Max Verstappen. The Australian driver struggled in his final Q3 run and could not manage to secure a spot on the front row. Oscar Piastri admitted that he simply didn’t do a good enough job during the session.

Oscar Piastri remains ‘hopeful’ for Sunday’s race
Oscar Piastri will start right behind Norris and Verstappen on Sunday. The 23-year-old could make gains on the two if he manages to have a good start. The Australian driver claimed that he was hopeful of getting a decent result in the race. Piastri noted that McLaren has shown good pace in long runs so far and as such, he could fight for victory tomorrow.

But I have a good car so hopeful of getting some good points tomorrow. The pace looked good in the long run, so hopefully we can have a good day, get a good start and make up a couple of places.Oscar Piastri stated
