McLaren star Oscar Piastri has strongly proved his worth during the 2024 Formula 1 season. Despite being only in his second year, he has not backed down against the heavy hitters. Moreover, with Piastri’s teammate Lando Norris facing his own woes in the driver’s championship tussle, the former is determined to amass ‘more success’.
As things stand, Lando Norris is a huge 62 points adrift of Max Verstappen in the driver’s tussle. The campaign has only three Grand Prix remaining and now it looks very unlikely that the former would be able to catch the prolific Dutchman.
This could be the opportunity that will allow Oscar Piasri to race freely in the remaining three races. Ahead of this week’s Las Vegas GP, the Aussie had the following to add.
I’m looking forward to heading out to Las Vegas and starting an important triple-header. We’re working hard to maintain our lead in the Constructors’ Championship and finish the season strongly. The aim is to push all the way for more wins and podiums before the season is out. There’s a lot of hard work and determination within the team and I’m extremely motivated to secure more success in this last part of the season.
Oscar Piastri said ahead of Las Vegas GP.

Looking at the reaction of Piastri, it is evidently clear that he is going to go gung-ho in his pursuit for success in the remaining three races. The 23-year-old has so far managed to amass 262 points with seven podiums and two Grand Prix wins this year. He is also currently in fourth place in the drivers’ championship behind Charles Leclerc.
McLaren in the ‘final push to get the job done’ in 2024
While Oscar Piastri has insisted on going after wins and podiums in the remaining three races, McLaren boss Andrea Stella has emphasized getting the job done. The papaya outfit is currently leading the constructors’ standings by 36 points over the Ferrari outfit.

In light of this, Stella wants all the personnel on his team to push the gas peddle to the fullest.
It’s been an incredibly busy season for everyone, and this is now the final push to get the job done. We’re keeping focused as we know the hard work is not over yet.

The Woking-based McLaren has the fastest car on the 2024 F1 grid. They have left behind the mighty Red Bull and this is one of the main reasons why they are leading the constructors’ championship.
Norris and Piastri have put the MCL38 through the absolute wringer and are thus, reaping the rewards for it. Switching gears back to Las Vegas, the 2023 inaugural event didn’t prove fruitful for the McLaren team. In light of this and the advancements they have made this year, they will look to change things for the better this time around.
